Team Building and Activities Director - Purpose of Position

To ensure successful planning and execution and debrief of camp and wilderness activities

Specific Responsibilities

• Plan and teach camp activities
• Organize and procure materials for activities
• Lead camping excursion to camp site
• Facilitate groups daily through the confidence course and debrief utilizing the six pillars of character
• Utilize nature to show children a major component of God’s character.
• Add creative twists to program
• Praise positive staff behavior
• Support staff and help them grow
• Manage undesired staff behavior in positive ways
• Help campers who need extra support
• Keep camp safe

Essential Functions

• Communicate to campers and counselors regarding safety regulations and emergency procedures specific to the camp and wildlife activities
• Communicate and provide necessary instruction to campers and staff
• Visually and audibly identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to camp activities
• Observe camper behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures, and apply appropriate behavior-management techniques
• Cognitive and communication abilities to plan and conduct activity to achieve camper development objectives
